Ruth Brownlee
Ruth Brownlee is Scottish landscape painter based in the Shetland Isles. Her inspiration is the dramatic, ever changing, elements of sea and sky which she witnesses from the large window of her studio and on her daily walks around the coast and Shetland's dramatic landscape.
Born near Edinburgh in 1972, Ruth graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1994 with a BA Hons in Drawing & Painting/Tapestry. Her work is exhibited in many galleries throughout the UK and beyond, including the Scottish Gallery and the Open Eye Gallery in Edinburgh, Roger Billcliffe in Glasgow, Rebecca Hossack in London, Beaux Arts in Bath, and Gallery Allmenningen in Bergen. She has work in many private and public collections throughout the UK and overseas.
Godfrey & Watt has often included her paintings in exhibitions.
