Guy Taplin
Guy Taplin is now renowned worldwide for his bird carving. We couldn’t dream of celebrating 40 years of our gallery without including some his pieces. We fell in love with his beautiful wooden birds right from the start and from 1985 onwards we hosted numerous exhibitions showcasing his sculptures, allowing a broader audience to appreciate his intricate and playful representations of birds. Trips to visit Guy and Robina in their enchanting cottage and beach house in Essex were always a joy and every time we marvelled at his latest creations. Guy is now in his eighties and making even more powerful and expressive work.
