Guy Taplin

We couldn’t dream of celebrating 40 years of our gallery without including some pieces by Guy Taplin. We fell in love with his beautiful wooden birds right from the start and from 1985 onwards we hosted numerous exhibitions showcasing his sculptures, allowing a broader audience to appreciate his intricate and playful representations of birds. Trips to visit Guy and Robina in their enchanting cottage and beach house in Essex were always a joy and every time we were surprised by his latest creations. Guy is now in his eighties but still making stunning sculptures, some even more elaborate and expressive. 

Our 40th Anniversary Exhibition opens on Saturday 22 November 2025 from 2-5pm
and continues every day from 12-5pm until 30th November.
We will have new work by Ruth in the exhibition and will update this page before the opening.
