About the artist

Picture
Since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2008, Emily’s exquisitely detailed watercolours, prints and embroidered bird sculptures have become much sought-after, helped in part by a feature in World of Interiors magazine which led to a flurry of commissions from around the world.

In 2011 her Curiosity Shop fabric design for St Jude’s won an Elle Decoration British Design Award and last year she illustrated ‘Clara Button & the Magical Hat Day’, a children’s book for the V&A.

This Christmas Emily’s playful illustrations are adorning tea tins and cake boxes for Bettys Café Tea Rooms and she is currently working on a sequel to Clara Button, and a non-fiction book about micro life for Walker Books, both due to be launched in 2013.

Emily Sutton: Clara Button and the Magical Hat Day.  An illustrated children's book for the Victoria & Albert Museum, £10.99.
