Amy Husband - Christmas Exhibition 2011
Amy Husband graduated from Liverpool School of Art in 2006, where she gained a BA in Graphic Art. Whilst there she developed her passion for children’s picture books and set her heart on a career as an illustrator. So far so good... since graduating she has had two picture books published with Meadowside Books. Her first book ‘Dear Miss’ was voted the winner of the Cambridgeshire Children’s Picture Book Award 2010.
Most recently she has been making collages inspired by still lives and interiors. She enjoys depicting everyday objects and scenes, and the boldness and immediacy that comes when working in collage is something that greatly appeals. She finds the work of still life artists Mary Fedden and Elizabeth Blackadder to be a particular influence.
She is now based in York, and has exhibited as part of York OpenStudios.
